This is the sixth part in a series, so if you have not already done so, you might want to read Part I, Part II, Part III, Part IV, and Part V before continuing.
The first thing I do when I get to my room is pull out my phone and open my TikTok app, only to find my account has been suspended.
You have got to be kidding me.
I open Instagram, only to find that blocked, too!
Great. That’s just great.
I refrain from throwing my phone across the room, but just barely.
Instead, I open my group chat with Sophie, Ashley, and Madison.
Me: TT and IG suspended my accounts!
Ashley: I’m so sorry. That sux
Madison: Did they say why?
Me: No. Just that someone reported my account. This is such BS!
Sophie: You don’t wanna b on it now. Everyone knows about Addie and they r not saying nice things about u
Me: What?!!!
Madison: Yeah, u don’t wanna c this
This time I do throw my phone across the room. It hits the wall and falls to my carpet. It should be fine. If not, it’s not like I need it anyway, since I can’t even get on social media.
I grab a pillow, bury my face in it, and scream until I’m exhausted.
I lie on top of my bed for a few minutes, but I’ve never been one to wallow. Eventually I decide to get up and wash my face. That will help me feel better, and then I can figure out my next move.
The water is cool without being cold. It helps me calm down, and I take a moment to lean over the sink as water drips from my face and I take a few deep breaths. I wait until I feel my heartrate slowing and my mind clearing.
I dry my face with a towel, relishing the feel of the soft, fluffy cotton against my skin.
I put the towel back, lean over the sink, and look in the mirror to find Addie staring back at me.
To be continued…
