By the time Nora is in her 20s, she’s running Dr. Croft’s clinic and has helped diagnose and treat patients with a variety of ailments.

“In the romance department, we always want our books to have something of the author’s heritage.”
“What does that mean?”

For such a short book, it manages to cover everything from mental illness to our broken education system to capitalism to friendship & family.

I would not be surprised to learn that editors nudge their writers towards a certain morally pleasing conclusion to their books.

This series is so bonkers, I’m not sure why I’m still reading, unless it’s to find out what bonkers stuff McGee will come up with next.

Ms. Priestly’s other assistant knows I’m telepathic, but she can’t prove it, and it’s driving her nuts. It’s so much fun!

A dystopian novel that feels all too real given all the steps backward our society has been taking these days.

“You made pâté?” Abbey asked, incredulous. How could she compete with a woman who made pâté? She didn’t stand a chance.
