I enjoyed this book every bit as much as I enjoyed Thomas’s debut novel.

Her husband was thrilled at the prospect of becoming a father. He visited her often in the early days of her confinement and always brought lavish gifts.
Becoming
Who hasn’t been excited for this book by Michelle Obama? I had already read both Dreams from My Father and The Audacity of Hope and I enjoyed getting Michelle’s perspective on things, although she’s careful not to just rehash stuff that was covered in her husband’s books.

Abigail saw something move in the chair a few feet from her bed. She started and tried to scramble away from whatever demon had snuck into her chamber.
The Source of Self-Regard
I will never read whitewashed literature again after having listened to this insightful essay collection.

Well, I was hoping this adorable YA novel by Julie Murphy would be a nice comfort read after my mom’s death. As it turns out, not so much.
