A slower burn than I would have liked, but it delivered on its promise and I enjoyed seeing a poor woman get revenge on a wealthy family.

While this was marketed as a good, feminist read, it turned out to be a bit of a disappointment on both counts.

Barb had been telling herself that all she needed was to go through the motions. Tonight would put that theory to the test.

You can definitely tell that this is a debut novel, but the plot and characters won me over so completely that I couldn’t put it down.

As much as Persephone liked to believe she was above such things, she had to admit she was curious to see if a dog could bathe itself.

I listened to this audiobook so I would be ready for the new adaptation, but now that I’ve read it, I still have yet to see the movie.
