Bobbi: Hey, Bruce.
Bruce: Yeah, Bobbi?
Bobbi: Does your human ever stay up all night?
Bruce: What? Awake?
Bobbi: Yeah?
Bruce: In his bed?
Bobbi: No. On the couch. And other places in the house.
Bruce: What other places?
Bobbi: Like the kitchen and bathroom.
Bruce: The kitchen and bathroom? What could he possibly be doing in there all night?
Bobbi: Sometimes my human fills a giant water bowl with water and then she’ll just sit in it for a long time.
Bruce: She sits in her water bowl?
Bobbi: Yeah. Does your human ever do that?
Bruce: No! That’s gross. Does she drink from it while she’s sitting in it?
Bobbi: No. I tried to once and she yelled at me.
Bruce: Your human is so weird.
Bobbi: So yours has never done that?
Bruce: Never.
Bobbi: Has he ever stayed up all night?
Bruce: How would I know? He sleeps up there and I sleep down here.
Bobbi: What’s up there?
Bruce: The humans’ beds.
Bobbi: How come we never get to go up there?
Bruce: They always put that thing in front of the stairs when you come over.
Bobbi: Why?
Bruce: So you won’t steal my bones.
Bobbi: You have bones back there?
Bruce: *growls*
Bobbi: OK, OK. It was just a question. So your human could be doing anything up there all night and you never even bother to check on him?
Bruce: No. If he sleeps too much, I go wake him up for his morning walk, but that’s about it. Sometimes Uncle Nick comes home in the middle of the night and then he’ll sleep until it’s almost time for Dad’s afternoon walk.
Bobbi: He does? What does he do all night?
Bruce: How should I know? Normally he comes home with his scent all covered up. Sometimes he’ll look at the glowing box for a while until late into the night before he goes to bed.
Bobbi: He comes home with his scent covered up? Covered how?
Bruce: With scents of food and other human smells and that stuff they drink that smells really strong and delicious and makes us sneeze.
Bobbi: I see.
Bruce: So your human really stayed up the whole night?
Bobbi: The whole night. And she burned some weird things that look kind of like sticks, but they were big and fat and soft instead of hard and crunchy. They smelled weird. She never slept until after I took her for her morning walk.
Bruce: Then what?
Bobbi: Then she slept all morning.
Bruce: In her bed?
Bobbi: Yep.
Bruce: Did she smell funny?
Bobbi: Nope.
Bruce: Your human is so weird.
Bobbi: I know, right?
