Who hasn’t been excited for this book by Michelle Obama? I had already read both Dreams from My Father and The Audacity of Hope and I enjoyed getting Michelle’s perspective on things, although she’s careful not to just rehash stuff that was covered in her husband’s books.
I will never read whitewashed literature again after having listened to this insightful essay collection.
Well, I was hoping this adorable YA novel by Julie Murphy would be a nice comfort read after my mom’s death. As it turns out, not so much.
I wasn’t sure about this book at first, but I ended up enjoying it more than some members of my book club.
I’m not sure this book is the fairy tale retelling I was made to believe it is, and it’s sadder than I had been expecting, but still worth reading.
If you can’t give me enough Lisbeth Salander to keep me interested, I’m not going to come back to this series – especially when the writing is so awful!
I had my reservations, but this book was just as much fun as the other DC YA novels and I can’t wait until Book 4.
I, for one, believe a fit 85-year-old woman could walk 10 miles in one night, especially if she makes a few stops along the way.
