I am glad I got to listen to this audiobook by Leslie Odom Jr., but I didn’t love it as much as I had been hoping I would.

Who hasn’t been excited for this book by Michelle Obama? I had already read both Dreams from My Father and The Audacity of Hope and I enjoyed getting Michelle’s perspective on things, although she’s careful not to just rehash stuff that was covered in her husband’s books.

I didn’t love this book as much as I did “The God of Small Things,” but the other members of my book club liked it even less.

This is a beautifully-written book in which the prose often feels like poetry.
