Jerk.
How can you do such a thing?
How can you leave me?
How can I go on?

Jerk.
Because of that word.
Because I can’t say anything else.
Because of what you mean to me.

Jerk.
You were deliberately contrary.
You teased me.
You loved me.

Jerk.
I was frustrated.
I was hurt.
I loved you.

Jerk.
We never fought.
We never had to.
We had that word.

Jerk.
It was the only thing that came between us.
It kept everything else out.
It was supposed to save us.

Jerk.
For failing to understand me.
For not trying to understand.
For thinking only of your feelings.
