This book was absolutely bonkers and I loved it. When even the characters remark on how implausible the plot is, you know it’s implausible!

A Christmas Carol
I read this book as a kid and remember it being very different from my favorite film adaptation, but it turned that’s not the case at all.
The Woman in White
I’m not sure why this book is always classified as horror since there’s nothing paranormal about it. I can see it being classified as a mystery, although I felt it was much longer than it needed to be.
Behind a Mask
If Little Women or Agnes Grey is too sweet for you, I recommend Behind a Mask because it is anything but sweet!
Agnes Grey
I didn’t love this book, but I liked it, and I certainly found it interesting to see how Anne grew as a writer.
Wives and Daughters
Romance, science, patriarchy, sisterhood, female friendships, money, hierarchy, aristocracy, the status quo. It’s all in Gaskell’s last novel.
The Shuttle
I hadn’t even realized this wonderful book existed until a podcast I listen to brought it to my attention and I’m so glad they did!
Villette
I didn’t have high hopes for this book because the only this I had heard about it were not great, but I ended up really enjoying it.
North and South
I loved this book almost as much as I loved hearing the girls on Bonnets at Dawn discuss it.
