Ghosts and Hairbrushes: Part VII

All the lights went out and the figure Stacie had seen at the foot of her bed last night appeared in the middle of the kitchen.

“This is not a game! The ghosts have your hairbrush, and now they have access to you. That’s what you saw last night.”

I just had this feeling that something was standing over me. As crazy as it sounds, I think that’s what woke me up.

Her aunt called, but Stacie was paralyzed as she stared at the figure at the foot of her bed, which grinned as it stared back at her.

“Everyone I know keeps dying and leaving me their stuff! What am I supposed to do? Say, ‘Thanks for the heirloom, but I don’t want it’?

“Someone needs to go down there to take care of Aunt Sabrina.”
“And I supposeby ‘someone’, you mean me.”

Having read the Six of Crows duology, I was super excited for Bardugo’s first foray into adult fiction and it did not disappoint!

This book is just as much fun as the first two books in the Jackaby series and I cannot wait until the next one comes out!
